Off the field in the unofficial 8th event, ‘the bender’, Jas Lane was once again a strong competitor. The last man standing on day one was lucky enough to snap this pic of Steve and Joel just before lights out, congratulations guys on making it to the final table.

Other standout performers in the bender were Toby and Luke Mann, the brothers outlasting the rest in the wee small hours of day two. Great effort that.

A thoroughly deserving Nick Miskelly is elated at winning his first title in 2011.  Scoobs beat of fierce competition this year, sealing the deal with a 14 – 1 shot on Ma’a Nonu in the final event as the AB’s overpowered the Aussies at Eden Park.

The Ginger Werewolf had defied the odds earlier that morning too, missing the always crucial first event on a mercy dash to Rotorua to fix up yet another work cock up.  When question about the amazing feat the peoples champion had only this to say, “This is the best weekend of my life! That’s gonna get me in trouble later… but it is!”.
